The Drawbacks of Ant Killer Spray
Ant killer spray is used to treat ant problems in your home especially in your kitchen where most will be because of the food source. Even though ant killer sprays are effective there is quite a bit of a drawback to them because of the nature of any colonies.
With sprays all visible ants in the area will be killed and you will no longer have to worry about those ants. The problem is that there is still a colony of ants that will continue to send more workers towards the food source in your home.
Yes, eventually over a long period of time spraying can work because the colony can wear thin and have to move on because you are keeping them from getting food. But the big issue is that the queen is never targeted. She stays safe producing more and more ants continuously.
Baits in many senses are superior to sprays. A bait will be taken by the worker ant back to the colony to be shared with others there. What will happen is that the poisonous bait will be fed to the queen therefore eliminating most of the colony fairly quickly.
In a complete ant control situation, relying on spray alone won’t cut it.
