Termidor Termite Treatment – Does It Work? Why Not Use Baits?
Termidor is a termite product that is undetectable to some of the harder to control termites. The types of termites this product is good for are subterranean termites, formosan subterranean termites, dampwood termites, and drywood termites.
How Termidor works.
Basically you will dilute this solution and spray it along the outside of your home to get it into the soil around the foundation of the home. Most termites enjoy the moist soil around the home because it gives them a water supply next to their food supply, the wood in your home. This solution will get into that soil and come in contact with the termites.
Why this is better than bait.
Many baits take quite awhile to actually work. If the bait is stronger to work faster, it will just kill the termites that come in contact with the bait. This is not a bad thing but you will only be treating some of the colony as opposed to the whole colony.
Termidor has what is known as a “transfer effect”. It won’t kill termites quickly but only slowly. This is done on purpose because the idea is that the Termidor treatment will transfer from one termite to the other gradually killing the whole colony. This process will take around 3 months to actually get the entire colony, but this is really realistic when considering the extent of most termite infestations.
