There are time where you have pests in the bathroom while they are not really in other parts of the house. This means that there is something specifically in the bathroom area that is attracting pests. In most cases this is going to be moisture.

The first step to controlling these pests is to look around the bathroom carefully for any cracks that there may be. If you find any, seal them up as best as possible.

Then do a solid cleaning of the whole bathroom wiping down every surface. Consider using a citrus smelling or minty smelling cleaner as this tends to be a repellent against many indoor pests.

Next check under the sink, around the tub, and around the toilet to make sure there isn’t any leaking water or standing water. Moisture will keep pests in the home. Many of these pests don’t have to eat everyday. In fact some can last months without food, so they will most likely reside in areas of the home where they can get water like in your bathroom. Get any leaks fixed.

You can get some drain killer pest control products or use a combination of bleach and water and pour them down your drains everyday. This will kill pests in the drain and taint their possible water supply.

Be sure to inform everyone in the family to make sure they are careful about wiping up any extra water after showers and baths to not continue to give the pests the water they need.

If you have a specific pest that you can identify, consider making or buy traps that you can place out to start getting rid of them faster.
