Homemade Natural Insecticides
In general terms it’s normally better to prevent and deter pest problems as opposed to having to use an insecticide. But sometimes the problem is already there or already out of control so an insecticide is needed. And a natural insecticide will be safer than toxic brands.
Homemade natural insecticides.
One of the common insecticide sprays that people make is most water with some dish soap inside. Put this into a spray bottle and spray on the plants. Sometimes vegetable oil is also added to help it stick on the plants better. This can help against quite a few pests because soapy, oily mixture will suffocate small pets.
Another spray is made with water and hot sauces and peppers. This sometimes works as a deterrent as well.
A garlic spray can be made as well. Soak a few cloves of garlic in water. Boil these if you want the garlic to get into the water faster. Put this combination into a spray bottle and add a little bit of soap or vegetable oil to help it stick to plants. Spray on the plants.
Some tips about these sprays is that hitting the underside of the leaves is advantageous to you. Many pests are on the underside of leaves. This will actually deal with those pests as opposed to them being protected by the leaf above them.
