Homemade DIY Mosquito Trap

For this trap you need a 2 liter bottle, brown sugar, a gram of yeast, a knife, tape, and black paper.

1. Cut the top of the 2 liter bottle about 2/3rds the way up so that you cut off the “funnel” portion of the bottle. Save both pieces.

2. Mix brown sugar in boiling water. Make sure it’s more water than sugar. Then put this mixture into the refrigerator until it chills.

3. Add this sugar water and the yeast into the bottom part of the bottle.

4. Tape the top part of the bottle upside down into the other part of the bottle.

5. Cover the outside of the bottle with dark paper and leave it in a corner outside or inside where you have serious mosquito problems.

This trap should last a few weeks and continue to catch mosquitoes. It’s effective because it will create carbon dioxide that mosquitoes are attracted to.
