Gopher Pest Control
Gophers can cause problems in the yard because they will dig it all up while making their tunnels. There isn’t anything really dangerous about them but they do destroy the lawn. Much of the time they are difficult to control because they tend to be kind of hard to find.
One methods that is suggested is to flood their tunnels but this typically doesn’t work at as well as one would hope. The tunnels go up and down under the ground and don’t really fill up completely. The gophers when feeling this water will just find a way out in most cases.
The three main ways of gopher pest control are baits, traps, and repellents.
Baits have poison and will kill the gopher. There is no chance of the gopher finding the bait then dying inside like some rats and squirrels do. Once dead dispose of the body cause a pet can find the dead animal and come in contact with the bait.
Traps are effective when done right. You have to find the paths in the ground and set two traps one facing each way because you may not know the directionality of that gopher hole. The issue here is disposing of the animal once trapped.
Repellents are a very effective method. For gopher repellent the idea is to use their natural fear of predators. Things like shake away and other gopher repellents will make them smell a predator they are afraid of in the area and will want to move on to a safer place. Of any method, this should be the one you try first.

Good Article! I have a pest control company and do not use poisons due to accidental poisoning of non target animals or poison flowing into the ground water. Of the repellants I have found that the caster oil ones are the most effective and with traps there is no doubt that surface trapping with the Cinch trap is far superior.
