Electronic Rodent Control
Electronic rodent control is one of the more effective methods of controlling pests such as rats, mice, and squirrels.
The problem with rodents in the home outside of the disease risk they pose is that they will chew on wires in the walls.
This is a huge fire risk since chewed up electric wiring can cause fires. Anytime you start having a rodent problem it’s a good time to start rodent pest control.
Electronic rodent control breaks down into two areas. There are electronic traps and electronic repellers.
Why an electronic trap versus a more traditional trap?
An electronic trap is seen as a more humane way of trapping and killing a rodent since it’s considered a “quick kill”. Sometimes other traps cause the animal to suffer for quite sometime.
What about electronic repelling methods?
One of the best ways to repel rodents is ultrasonic sound. These are normally small devices that are battery powered or plug into the wall them emit a high frequency that humans can’t hear that is uncomfortable for rodents around them which causes them to go away.
Do ultrasound devices really work?
It depends on who you ask. Some say they do not and some say they do. The reason is because rodents can get used to some devices.
Something to look for are repellers with variable sound frequency. That way the rodent can’t get used to the sound as it’s constantly changing.
Also use the plug in versions as opposed to the battery versions because the batteries run out and sometimes go into a power saving mode which means they aren’t actively repelling. It should be noted that these same devices can also work on roaches.
