Easy to Make Silverfish Trap that Won't Harm Your Pet
Sometimes you may notice that you have a few silverfish around but not an all out infestation. You want to get rid of them, but don’t want to spend alot of time or money. You also are looking for something that isn’t too harmful to your pets or children if they so happen to get into the trap.
There is an easy to make silverfish trap that will help control them to an extent.
It will require a glass jar, some masking tape, as well as some bread.
Silverfish are attracted to starches that are found in things like bread as well as to glues that might be found in book bindings or wallpaper. So the bread will work at the bait.
Wrap the masking tape around the outside of the jar so the sticky part is facing out. This makes it so that the outside of the jar is sticky enough they can climb up the glassy surface.
Put the bread inside the jar and place it in an area where you might have a silverfish problem.
The silverfish will climb up the jar to get to the bread inside but will find themselves trapped as they can’t make it out of the jar since the sides are too slick to climb back out.
If you cat or dog happens to get to the bread, they just end up with an extra snack.
