What will food grade diatomaceous earth do for your chickens?
There are two important things diatomaceous earth can do. Firstly, it will attack pests and parasites in your chickens. Secondly, it will help with some of the mineral deficiencies that your chickens may be having also building calcium from the DE.
How to use DE with your chickens?
Food grade DE will have to be mixed in with the feed normally between 2-5%. This should be done for about two months for best results.
Warnings:
Do not use pool filter grade diatomaceous earth with your animals. This is poisonous and will harm your animals. Make sure it’s food grade not pool filter grade.
