Cities Having Problems With Bed Bugs
There have been recent news reports about cities having problems with bed bug problems this year. The city of Toronto for example had to change their budget from $1 million dollars a year to $2.5 million dollars because of the growing bed bug problems in the area.
When these pests cause a problem, it can add up to some serious costs. Cities used to be able to use DDT but it has since not been used because of it’s high toxicity despite working very well.
One thing that has helped citizens in that area is a new technique to determine if you have a bed bug problem. It’s easy to do.
Take a plastic bowl and put in baby powder or talcum powder in it. Leave this below furniture and bed posts. This should indicate if you have bed bug problems if you find them in this bowl.
This should start you on the process of controlling bed bugs if you indeed have them.

I had a bed bug problem not too long ago and I was strongly advised by my exterminator to purchase encasements to prevent any future bed bug infestations. I ordered encasements from bedbug.com for every pillow, mattress and box spring in my house. I advise all people with or without a bed bug problem to do the same because no one is exempt from falling victim to a bed bug infestation and its a nightmare to deal with!
