Carpenter Ant Bait – A Better Solution For Carpenter Ant Problems
Carpenter ants are a difficult pest to manage properly. First of all they are nocturnal so it’s difficult to even notice their habits because you are sleeping while they are active. Secondly, they nest and travel inside the wood in your home become as difficult to find as a termite. But the problem must be dealt with else your structure can be severely damaged over time.
Carpenter ant bait will work much better than repellents. The problem with using a repellent with carpenter ants is that they have large colonies and satellite colonies. The repellent will just keep them away from that one area but not deal with the problem.
Most carpenter ant baits have larger granules so that only the larger carpenter ant will be able to pick them up. These deadly granules are then taken to their colony or satellite colony to be given to others. There is only one queen that has to be killed to wreck the colony but she can be upwards of almost 300 feet away. This means that using the baits might have to be done for quite sometime.
Don’t make this mistake. Many people think that using a combination of carpenter ant solutions will be more effective since there is more there. The common mistake is using sprays and baits together. What you are doing is repellent the carpenter ants from the baits that you WANT them to eat and travel with. This makes the method fairly ineffective.
